Description :
This is a vintage steel strike plate, measuring 3 ¾ inches long by 1 ¼ inches wide. It features a single rectangular mortise cutout for a latch bolt and two countersunk screw holes for installation. The reverse is stamped “1238 / 1239”, likely a model or batch number.
The plate retains traces of its original silver-gray finish, now showing surface wear, light oxidation, and remnants of old paint, adding to its authentic vintage patina.
A practical piece of early–mid 20th century hardware, well-suited for use in door restoration, replacement, or architectural salvage projects.
