Now Building Together: RBX & Beech Tree Studio

We’re thrilled to kick off a new collaboration- 2nd Sunday Builders with Beech Tree Studio, led by the wildly talented and wonderfully grounded Claire. She is a total badass with deep roots in the trades — she’s built sets in New York City (ask her about the raining raccoons), mastered her craft across countless creative builds, and has a gift for making tools and techniques feel approachable for everyone.

At Beech Tree, Claire teaches building and craft skills with an inclusive, supportive style that meets people exactly where they are — whether you’ve never held a tape measure or you’ve got sawdust in your veins.

We asked her if she’d want to co-host a monthly workshop series with us at RBX. She said yes. And now, every Second Sunday, we’re teaming up to bring you a build experience that’s creative, confidence-boosting, and full of reclaimed possibility.

Each class blends Claire’s leadership, RBX’s salvaged materials, and your own two hands to create something functional, beautiful, and built by you. You’ll use shared tools, learn real skills, get a little dusty, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece that’s perfect for your home or as a handmade gift.

2nd Sunday Builders- Flat Pack Bench

It’s a no-strings-attached kind of build: simple to assemble, easy to break down, and perfect for small spaces, guest seating, or a pop-up porch perch. Come for the hands-on skills, leave with a functional piece that’s as clever as it is clean.

Did You Know?

Beech trees are community-minded — literally. Beneath the forest floor, their roots connect through a network of fungi known as the “Wood Wide Web.” This hidden system allows beech trees to share nutrients, support struggling neighbors, and even send warning signals about pests or drought. It’s nature’s way of looking out for each other ....
