Description :
This reclaimed Gothic church pew modesty screen, also known as a pew frontal, measures approximately 62" W x 32" H x 4" D and is crafted from solid poplar. Featuring carved Gothic arch tracery with triangular corner detailing beneath a molded top rail, this panel was originally installed in front of the first row of pews or along the choir section to conceal the open bench framing while providing a finished architectural presence.
The dark stained finish shows visible wear, surface scratches, minor edge loss, and natural patina consistent with long-term ecclesiastical use. The reverse side reveals traditional board construction and original joinery. Its moderate scale makes it ideal for repurposing as a headboard, fireplace surround accent, wall feature, or decorative architectural insert while preserving historic church craftsmanship.
