This RCA Victor SHP-8A is a mid-century stereo console that combines RCA’s tube-based high-fidelity audio system with a built-in AM/FM tuner and automatic record changer. Finished in walnut veneer with a fabric speaker grill and hinged lid, this all-in-one unit once represented the cutting edge of living room audio. Labeled as part of RCA’s “Orthophonic High Fidelity” line, it includes the original turntable, tuner faceplate, multiple tone and volume knobs, and a rear panel supporting tape, phono, tuner, and internal/external speaker routing. A red Olson Stereo Level Control (VC-227) has been added inside the cabinet for additional channel balancing. Condition is unverified and untested. The rear reveals intact wiring, dual speakers, and accessible tube sockets. Ideal for display, restoration, or parts use.
