Description :
This vintage steel door backplate, painted black, features a rectangular form with a standard knob collar and keyhole cutout. The black finish has areas of wear and minor rust bleed-through around edges and screw holes, adding character to its salvaged appearance. Originally paired with a mortise lock, these plates are ideal for restoration projects, period interiors, or mismatched hardware repairs. Can be stripped and refinished to expose the original brass underneath.
