This pair of miniature character jugs features two expressive ceramic portraits: one of King George VI in Royal Navy uniform, and the other of John Barleycorn, a traditional British folk figure symbolizing the spirit of drink. The King George VI mug is by Royal Winton Grimwades, made in England, and includes a coiled rope-shaped handle. The John Barleycorn jug is a Royal Doulton piece with the name “Old Lad” molded on the reverse. Both mugs are finely hand-painted and detailed, standing just 2½" tall—ideal for collectors of toby jugs and British pottery miniatures.
