Description :
This pair of intricate, handcrafted figures—depicting a dancing farm boy and girl—were made by Marlow Woodcuts of Americus, Kansas, a company founded in 1932 by Margaret Lowe. Each piece is jigsaw-cut from native Kansas walnut and assembled by hand with delicate inlay and layering to capture movement and detail. Margaret Lowe, an artist and educator during the Great Depression, began creating these pieces in her father’s cabinet shop after losing her teaching job, ultimately building a beloved small business. These two pieces show evidence of age and previous repair, adding to their rustic charm and handmade authenticity.
