Folk It Up: A Salvaged Wood Painting Workshop with Eve Krejci

Pull up a seat, pick a piece, and make it your own.

We’re gathering salvaged wood from around RBX, including old boards, shelves, crates, and other pieces with good bones. Together we’ll turn them into something bright and one-of-a-kind with paint markers and folk art patterns.

Think open studio, more hangout and offering peer support rather than an art lesson. Paint whatever inspires you: florals, vines, dots, borders, or your own designs. Questions are always welcome, and we’ll have folk art pattern ideas on hand if you want a starting point. Mostly, it’s an evening of good company, good conversation, and making something together. All skill levels welcome.

Your instructor:

Eve Krejci is a self-taught folk artist. In her free time, she loves adorning various pieces she finds at home with her fun and approachable folk art. Her art is grounded in finding inspiration in ordinary objects and letting her art take on a life of its own.

Your ticket includes:

• Your choice of a salvaged wood piece from our collection (you are welcome to wander around the shop before the workshop starts and buy anything you want to paint if you feel inspired by something else)
• Paint markers and supplies for the workshop
• Light snacks
• Your finished piece to take home

Good to know: Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy. Seats are strictly limited — once they're gone, they're gone.
