Description :
This salvaged surface-mount rim lock features a rectangular cast iron housing with integrated keyhole and spindle slot, measuring 3 ⅛" W x 4 ⅜" L. Likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this piece exhibits aged patina and layered corrosion, hinting at a long period of use. Once mounted on the interior surface of a door, it would have paired with a skeleton key and doorknob spindle to operate a deadlatch mechanism. It includes mounting holes and the original strike plate flange, though internal functionality is untested and it is being sold as-is.
