Antique Cleveland Oak Double School Desk

Description : Antique double student school desk featuring two solid oak writing surfaces and storage compartments supported by a shared decorative cast iron base marked “CLEVELAND.” Each sloped desktop lifts to reveal a spacious interior storage compartment and includes a round opening along the upper rail traditionally used for an inkwell. The oak displays prominent grain, a warm aged finish, scratches, finish loss, paint marks, and other wear from years of institutional use. Heavy black cast iron supports feature open geometric detailing and retain their connecting hardware. Wood runners have been added beneath the feet for stability and easier freestanding use. This substantial salvaged schoolhouse piece works well as a historic display, distinctive writing station, retail fixture, or repurposed furniture piece while preserving the character of early classroom furnishings.
