This antique brass fire hose valve was manufactured by Mouat, Cleveland, Ohio and is embossed with the company's name on the body. The top of the valve bears a patent date of February 8, 1916, making it a rare and collectible piece of early 20th-century firefighting equipment. It features a lever handle for operation, a threaded side outlet for hose connection, and a 1" NPT (National Pipe Thread) pipe inlet. The solid brass construction has acquired a well-aged patina, showing signs of authentic service use.
