Description :
A handsome early 20th-century two-tone stoneware crock featuring a rich Albany slip brown glaze over a natural salt-glazed base. The cobalt blue “2” mark designates its 2-gallon capacity, typical of American utilitarian pottery. The crock has a smooth rolled rim and uniform cylindrical shape, showing minor wear consistent with age. Once used for preserving pickles, butter, or other goods, it now makes an excellent decorative storage piece or rustic farmhouse planter.
